Back in September 2022. I rented a property from the company Glade company the property caught fire. The company requires property insurance, so I did have insurance on the property. The property manager told us that he was going to contact the insurance company to fill the damage we haven't received anything from the company. I haven't heard anything from the rental company the insurance company contact me and told me that they had several agreement with the company the company took all of the money from the deposit in for the security we have nowhere to stay we've been homeless ever since 2022 of us September 1 we've been living from hotel and staying with family. We have no money we have nothing that company took everything from us. We've been living there for two years paying $950 every month never been late on a payment never have a balance with the company, I'm just axing and seeking for help please please. Resolution Sought I would like for the business to give us back our deposit ill security deposit because we pay for the insurance to cover the damage. Whatever happened to the property is not our fault. We was not at the property win. The property was caught on fire. The tenant's apartment caught fire due to his negligence on 9/2/2022, as stipulated on his lease, the lease shall not cease nor shall there be abatement in the rent, and the tenant shall be liable for the rent during the unexpired terms of his lease. All utilities must remain in his name until Lease is expired. The tenant failed to pay rent and shut off all utility services on his apartment, in the state of Florida the property is considered abandoned. We lost communication with the tenant on 9/30/22, and no calls or notice was given to our office since then until 02/2023 his girlfriend came to our office to claim his boyfriend's security deposit. His account was closed, and a Security Deposit of $780.00 was applied toward the rent owed by the tenant leaving an open balance after the security deposit deduction of $3,560.00. A fire claim was imposed on his renter's insurance on 9/3/2023. The insurance settlement wasn't until 4 months later 1/12/2023. We lost 4 months of revenue therefore we have no reason to hold the apartment.
