My husband was admitted noonday for a 72 hour hold. I dropped off a bag of clothes, his card holder/money clip. Inside the clip was his ID, credit cards and cash (amount $477.00) 2 packs of cigarettes. When he was released Thursday morning his money was missing. The facility had no answers in regarding the missing money and they will not return any phone calls. I was trying to give them the benefit of doubt but it is now, Friday and we still have not received a phone call. I would like to file a complaint against the company. Resolution Sought I would like them to return the stolen money. And have someone investigate this facility for improper care of patients.

Company Response

Company states: We want to thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention involving missing items. Your wife states she had brought items to the facility after you were admitted including money in the amount of $477. The concern was reported to the Patient Advocate who requested assistance from the hospital's Director of Quality and Compliance. An investigation was conducted. Through this investigation we were unable to substantiate either way that money had been brought to the facility or that it could have been removed from storage. As there were no further concerns, as of today, May 19th, we consider this issue resolved. If you have further questions, please contact Vicki at 513-318-1129.

Customer Rebuttal

I gave descriptions of everyone that i knew that was involved in handling his bag with the money. The employees had to have seen it because they say that the search the bag and then wash all belongings before giving them to the patient and if there are any valuables they are put into the safe and given backd to the patient when they are released . If that was the case then his wallet/money clip would have been in the safe with all contents in it . They left it in the front pocket of his bag so who ever searched the bag took the money and left the rest in the front pocket and didn't do the right thing . There response is inadequate and they need to do a better job investigating. I would not be making a complaint if the money was not missing. All i want is the money back. The employees know who took it and the company should do a better job in handling patient belongings . they also ran out of the medication my husband was taking. This place needs to be thoroughly investigated and they need to replace the money. I would not be going through all of this if they didn't take the money.
