27 years of loyalty & friendship, as clients of Michael Goodfellow's, then 4 years ago, as he introduced clients to a new Accountant, who would within 2 years, buy the business so Michael could retire, we went faithfully every year. Office protocol, since electronic biling became a thing 25 years ago, was mai out services rendered statements within 1-3 business days of your appt & payment due within 2 weeks of that. We have followed this protocol the entire time! This year, we met with Chase Mahaffey on 2/11/23, less then a 20 min appt, because I have ALWAYS done ALL the leg work for the Accountants, they simply plug the amounts into their computer, as I read it all of to them..for $250! This year, I had to email him, asking why the IRS Tax
Info l#, had "no info" on us & 1 did this on 2/13. On 2/15, Chase replies, they were "submitted & accepted on 2/14" but he did not send an attached confirmation from the IRS, which we've always been sent, for 25 yrs. I knew something wasn't quite right. Well, 2 weeks later, IRS still has no info on us, I've called multiple times leaving Chase VM's & still no refund deposited. On 2/23. Michelle. called multiple times leaving Chase VM's & still no refund deposited. On 2/23, Michelle, whom we now know is his wife, left an 8 second msg, NOTHING about payment before our taxes would get filed. We are hiring a Tax Attorney, as this woman refuses to allow us to speak to our Accountant.
Resolution Sought
Refund, in FULL, our $250 that was paid on 3/1/2023 & demand Chase Mahaffey & his wife, Michelle, write us an apology letter for the issues he allowed his wife to create, control, make worse by lying AND for allowing her to hold our 2022 electronic tax filing HOSTAGE for a total of 18 days without any legal merit!!
