Customer Complaint

7/5/2024

We are submitting this complaint to express our deep dissatisfaction with Grand Crowne Resorts and their refusal to allow us to cancel our timeshare ownership. We have been informed that they are not permitting any releases at this time. When we inquired about the duration of this restriction, the representatives could not provide clear answers or a timeline. The escalating maintenance and annual fees associated with the timeshare have become unmanageable for us, especially given our health conditions. The fees have steadily increased over the years and are now close to $2400 annually, which places us in a significant financial bind. Additionally, we have been unable to use the timeshare due to our health issues. Even during the three occasions we did use it, the experience did not match the expectations set by the initial description. In 2015, my stepson suffered a stroke and was placed in a nursing home, marking the beginning of our inability to use the timeshare. Since then, my wife has undergone numerous medical procedures including lap band surgery, both knees being replaced (with the right knee replaced twice), two shoulder surgeries (the last one in April 2023), surgery for kidney stones (in October 2023), and complications from the lap band surgery. I, too, have been dealing with neuropathy and back problems. Given our numerous health ailments and the continuous increase in maintenance fees, we find ourselves unable to maintain this timeshare. Resolution Sought We feel trapped by Grand Crowne Resorts and would like to see some options for release coming sooner, rather than later.
