My furnace stopped operating, I called Steger heating. They said my furnace was bad and dangerous and they said stop using because co level was very high and we could die in our sleep if we didn't get a new furnace, which he repeated numerous times. The furnace kept cutting out and stopped operating. They talk me into a new furnace without trying to repair it. They installed the new furnace and it did the same thing cutting out and it stop running the same as the old one did. It turned,out there was a wire to the thermostat was shorting out causing the problems. I felt that they should have tried to find the initial problem. And fix it then talked about a new furnace It was Christmas week and we were suppose to host. He new my situation and took advantage of us . Trying to scare us into buying a new furnace. Which he did. Also I am 81 years old my wife is 73 not that we are senile or any thing. We feel we were taken advantage of. Also we had a Carrier and they replaced it with a generic brand furnace worth $1500 max which is not worth $5000 . Also I never signed a contract with them as they rushed us into getting a new furnace. Resolution Sought Refund our monies or most of it also to prevent others from there predatory practices. I have not talked to them yet.
