My concern is with GTE Credit Unions mortgage loans. particularly the zero down program and additional loans for closing costs and fees. In some cases, they are making loans for homes that do not appraise for the loan amount, so the buyer has to make up the difference. I understand this is nothing new for a conventional loan with a buyer that puts down a significant down payment and makes up the difference of the appraisal, but this should not be the case with the programs list above. This places the buyer underwater from day one. This is certainly not ethical and borders on predatory lending. This program strips away equity from the buyer. Financial institutions should not be allowed to approve loans that are known to be underwater on day one! Resolution Sought Discontinue approving loans that are underwater on day one.

GTE continues to have ways of handling business poorly for their customers. I have never seen a bank have more "red tape" and ambiguity for their processes that make us customers seem like circus animals jumping through hoops. For example, they have a "reward" called skip a payment for their loans, however, this reward that is presented once a year for good behavior results in a "fee" and this fee can only be paid the most convoluted way possible to make your reward seem like a hassle in which they profit from this fee and your aggravation because you have no other option. I would not suggest doing business with this bank under any circumstances. Resolution Sought Someone needs to investigate their bad habits in putting their customers last. I have been one for over a year now and hated every minute of it. I'd love to see them either be shut down for bad practices or correct the wrongs.
