H. Wells repaving neighbor's driveway (they currently are having issues as well). My wife spoke with Henry Wells Sr. and Jr. Verbal contract to replace our driveway for $6,500.00 at 2 1/2". (Noted on receipt.) Would not give written contract. We expressed concerns about not wanting any water running into garages. Told would be 2 1/2" blacktop. Job finished. Discovered water not running off left side of driveway and puddling. Puddling at garages too. Sr. stated his guys put too much blacktop so it was not running off. Based on our concern, they "fixed" it. We paid by credit card. Rained Saturday. Noticed Sunday, the fix was to create drain valleys in a new driveway. Then discovered the 2 1/2" over pave of the existing driveway was only 1/2" to maybe 3/4" over pave of the existing driveway. Also found paving to be not installed correct and having open aggregate that will chip off and eventually crack. Texted Sr. Sunday. Jr. called Sunday. Explained my concerns. Jr. asked for pictures of which I sent. He replied that he could seal coat and that it was their fault. I texted back to have his father call me. At this point, I stopped the credit card payment. As of now, Monday, May 20, 2024, no call. Resolution Sought We want a correctly installed driveway that will not fall apart. We want what we agreed on 2 1/2" of blacktop. We have stopped payment.
