I have had water dripping inside my patio from the very beginning that is making a small hole in the concrete. The nylotech no rust screws are starting to rust although it has only been about six months. Now as I am preparing to have the ceiling fan installed I am being told the ceiling fan beam was placed off center, the ceiling fan cannot be placed in the center of the room. I emailed Wendy Pay of the permit department who immediately returned my email stating I would hear from someone by phone or email within a few days but I am yet to hear from someone. This whole project has been bad from start to finish, having been problems with the salesman who admitted giving a wrong estimate to the concrete person that has to be approved by the company. The continuous leak ( I feel like they are trying to string me along until my one year warranty is up). Now the ceiling fan beam issue. Resolution Sought I would like the leak fixed once and for all before it gets worse and ruin my concrete, and I would like the fan beam centered in the room.

Company Response

We met with customer yesterday afternoon on site. Customer is concerned about two matters. Details and further explanation provided below: 1. Customer not happy with location of Fan Beam: • Explained that the location of the fan beam inside of the 4 foot roof panel is in the middle of it. Explained that we always do our best to line up the fan beam in the middle of the deck. However, in their case, given the size of their deck, which then dictates the number of panels that have to be ordered, we got as close as we could to the center. Since customer is adamant about having a fan beam in the center of the enclosure, we provided them with a solution to install an external fan beam that can be added on the roof side and then, they can screw their fan into the external fan beam accordingly towards the center of the enclosure. Customer accepted this solution. 2. Roof leak: • Customer experiencing a roof leak from their soffit, which is somehow dripping behind our enclosure. Per customer, the leak comes and goes with certain types of rains. Spent about an hour looking at any potential areas where the water could be coming in from. We couldn't find any areas of concern with our screen enclosure. We added more sealant in all areas to further protect the area. It is possible that water is coming down from customer's shingle roof. Therefore we also added more sealant under customer's shingles on the edge of the roof line. Furthermore, we have contacted a 3rd party roofer that we use from time to time in order to have him put his professional eye on the job from a roofing stand point and give us his opinion. This 3rd party roofer has already been provided customer's information in order to schedule an appointment with them for tomorrow AM if customer is available. Based on this 3rd party roofer's assessment, we will address item 1 accordingly. Customer has been updated with where we are as of today.

Customer Rebuttal

Per number 1- I was informed yesterday about the 4 ft sections of panel and how hey were made, I was not advised of this in the beginning, I would never have excepted that my ceiling fan would not be centered, I should have been informed of this before installation . This basically was an extra cost I did not have to incur, I don't know anyone that would have a ceiling fan other than the center of he room. There is no excuse for this poor salesmanship! To have this explained more than six months later is an insult. As for the 3rd party roofer , did come to our home, and advised us that there is NO leak coming from the shingles on our roof, he states that sometimes where the two structures meet there could be these issues of them just not butting together. As I explained to both Hartshorn and he 3rd party, I don't want anything done to my roof hat may cause a future issue with my warranty or homeowners insurance as a result of altering the surface of the roof and shingles. Additionally my next door neighbors had a similar leak as well, which is why I'm not buying he leak from my roof or shingles.
