We get information in the mail about lowering our electric bill, but we are not allowed because we have to get our electric from Hatfield Borough. Our house is all electric & we think they could give us a break. We pay a lot more than people who have gas in the borough. There is a PPL line about 50 feet of our houses. Resolution Sought We are seniors on a limited income & I think they could give us a break on our bill.

The Borough of Hatfield is one of thirty-five municipal-owned electric utilities in Pennsylvania. Borough Ordinances do not give us the ability to charge customers different rates based on their age, sex, gender, or other human characteristics. Instead, the Borough rates and charges are based on property use, i.e. residential, commercial, etc., and the usage of the property. (attached to BCA for review) and for reference, ways we encourage customers to save energy throughout the year.
