I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with our Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare ownership. We initially purchased a full membership in Orlando last year with the expectation that this would bring us enjoyable and flexible vacation opportunities. Unfortunately, the reality of this membership has been quite the opposite of what was promised, leaving us feeling misled and, frankly, trapped in a financially burdensome investment we cannot use. To provide some specifics, Our financial commitment includes maintenance fees of $676 per year, club dues, activation fees, and a mortgage payment of $176 per month ($2,112 per year). Altogether, this represents a significant burden on our household budget. We were specifically told that maintenance fees would never increase; however, this claim has proven to be false. Throughout this process, we were not made fully aware of the numerous additional costs, such as HOA fees, club fees, and activation fees. These recurring fees, combined with the inflexible travel options, add to the perception that the full financial implications of this membership were not transparently communicated. Despite our best efforts to explore travel options, we've found the membership's offerings heavily skewed toward stays in Orlando, which does not align with our travel preferences. I wanted to share my incredibly disappointing experience with Hilton's timeshare program. It's been nothing but frustration and it hasn't delivered on the promises I was sold during the sales pitch. When I signed up, I was told I'd have access to destinations. Instead, I've found the options are outdated & limited. The beautiful locations they show in promotional materials are almost never available when I try to book. It feels misleading and unfair. I even upgraded from a one-bedroom to a two-bedroom unit, because I was told it would give me better reservation availability. Untrue. Even with plenty of points, I now have fewer options & disappointing accommodations. I was pressured into buying a deeded plan that promised to offer more flexibility and value. But no one explained the long-term implications and the promised benefits don't exist. I feel misled. To make things worse the condition of the properties is shocking. At Ocean 22, I recently found large cockroaches in our unit: on the top floor! That level of cleanliness is intolerable, especially for a property marketed as a premium vacation destination. For these reasons, I'm asking Hilton to close my account and release me from any financial obligations. The promises made during the sales process weren't kept, and this program has only caused stress and disappointment. I'm sharing this publicly because it's time for Hilton to be held accountable. No one else should have to go through what I've experienced. Resolution Sought I seek a fair and transparent resolution regarding my current situation, with my primary goal of canceling this existing agreement. Considering I have expressed frustrations and evident dissatisfaction, the outcome should alleviate any ongoing concerns while avoiding unnecessary complexities. Ultimately, achieving this cancellation will restore my faith and provide me with a sense of closure and fairness.
