I am writing to file a complaint against Diamond Resorts (now Hilton Grand Vacations) regarding a timeshare purchased in 2021. Since purchasing this timeshare, we have encountered numerous issues contrary to the promises and guarantees made during the sales process. Problems Experienced Limited Access to Ownership Benefits We were assured that the timeshare ownership could be used at "hundreds of locations around the world," including campgrounds and RV parks, with the ability to use it "anywhere and anytime." However, to date, we have only been able to use our ownership once, and we were never even granted access to campgrounds or RV parks as promised. No Delivery of Promised Benefits We were supposed to receive access to various locations and vacation opportunities. Despite repeated follow-ups, none of this was provided. Upgrade Pressure Due to Merger Following the merger between Diamond Resorts and Hilton Grand Vacations, we were informed that our ownership would become "worthless" unless we purchased an upgrade. This tactic feels misleading and coercive. Misrepresentation of Rental Opportunities. We were explicitly told that the property could be rented out on platforms such as Airbnb to generate profit. However, this has not been the case, and we now understand that this was a misrepresentation during the sales process. This is in regard to the timeshare membership we hold with Diamond Resorts, now Hilton Grand Vacations. We initially purchased a Sampler package, upgraded to US Collections in 2019, and later to the HI Collection in 2022. We were promised this membership would provide a great opportunity to travel with our family, with easy reservations for our desired destinations and times. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. Using the timeshare has been a constant challenge. Availability is limited, forcing us to book during grand openings or settle for what's available, regardless of our preferences. We've never been able to travel when and where we wanted, which has been deeply disappointing. We currently pay $945.75 per month in membership fees, plus $3,500 annually in maintenance fees—nearly $15,000 a year for vacations we don't enjoy. This membership is neither cost-effective nor stress-free. The financial burden has become overwhelming, making it hard to cover everyday expenses. This membership only adds to our struggles, and we're desperate to cancel it. This membership has failed to deliver on its promises, offering neither value nor convenience. We can book quality accommodations on our own without this expensive and stressful contract. We kindly request the immediate cancellation of our membership, as it no longer meets our needs or financial situation. We feel like we were misled and lied to, and we want out of this.
