Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. If they are considering doing business with the company, consumers can use this indicator to forecast the likelihood of having their issues addressed if a problem arises. CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

A variety of factors are considered when calculating CRI. This includes how quickly a company responds to complaints, the number of complaints against a company, whether the company addressed complaint allegations, and the outcome of the complaints. My house was painted by Home Shield Coating several years ago. At the time I was given a 30 year warranty for the paint product. The following year there was problems with the paint. This was addressed in 2018 under the warranty. However several areas were not covered as I was told by Mike Diaz due to problems with the wood. I replaced the wood boards and had another painter repair it. Home shield coating did do a repair on other areas of the house. The following year 2019 there was again problems with the paint breaking down. I contacted Mike to do the repairs. He did not do this saying there was again problems with the wood boards so the warranty would not cover it. In 2020 the pain problem worsened and I again contacted Mike to repair it under the warranty. This again was not completed last year because of file problems with the weather and it was delayed. This year I again contacted Mike and told him the pain problem was worsening and to please repaired this year. He again said that boards needed to be replaced. After consultation with other painters some of the boards were replaced and at my own expense I had it repainted. However I was told by the other painter that one main area of the house did not need the boards replaced but they just needed to be scraped and repainted. I contacted Mike again and asked him to do this and he said he felt all the boards needed replacement and he would then charge me more to repaint that area of the house despite the warranty I have. Resolution Sought I want them to honor the warranty as I initially paid more than double the cost of a regular paint job because of the warranty of 30 years. The warranty is their main reason I paid so much originally. I have owned the house for over 40 years and I've had it painted five times previously and none of those regular paint jobs broke down as quickly as this paint job did.
