I enrolled with this home warranty company on Sept. 28,2022. My enrollment did not become effective until October 28,2022. I was informed that the total purchase price for my membership was $5,256.07. The coverage package was for a period of 36 months. Starting on October 28, 2022, I was expected to pay $275. 62 each month for the first 18 months of my contract. The next 18 months were supposed to be "payment-free." I understood that I was paying the monthly fee, which entitled me to service to my home appliances and/or home systems (i.e., electrical, heating, plumbing, etc.). As a customer, I would only have to pay a $75.00 fee for a technician to come to my home for each service call, or actual cost of service, whichever is less, paid to the authorized service professional at the time of service, WHETHER OR NOT THE FAILURE IS DETERMINED COVERED BY THIS AGREEMENT. On Friday, Feb. 10,2023, I placed a call for service to my heating system, my radiators were not functioning. The Service representative I spoke to, Mr. Skipp Phillippi, stated that my coverage did not cover radiators, therefore, he would not send a technician to my home at all. I said I did not know exactly what was wrong with my heating system, but was merely mentioning the radiators were not working. I am not a technician. It is not for me to know what I'm paying for a technician to investigate! He said he would put me on hold to speak to his supervisor about the issue. He hung up on me.
Resolution Sought
I want HOME WARRANTY SERVICES to cancel my contract, and to refund the monthly payments for their services they have been deducting from my bank account, which so far amount to approximately $1,400.00.
