On 7/26/21, Homestead Air Duct Cleaning came to clean our ducts. The tech told us that the ducts needed to be cleaned and that the coils were wet and moldy and needed sanitized, which we agreed to. He recommended electrostatic filters, which we also agreed to. He told us he would give us a quote, but I had checked the internet for pricing and the ranges were such I couldn't come up with one. We were going to have it done, so we agreed. When one electrostatic filter came in the mail, it was just like the regular ones, a little studier and material that could be cleaned with a hose. It was nothing like the one our heating tech put on our furnace in Lilburn. When I checked the internet, I found I could buy it at Lowes for $51.27, not the $239 I paid him. When the second filter came in the mail on 8/17/21, I called to let him know and he came on 8/21 and put it in. When I asked him what he had to pay for the filters, he said he did not know. What I do know is I paid $$478 for 2 filters I could have bought at Lowes for $103. Because of this, I now am questioning the rest of the charges.. $1098 for the mold treatment; $498 for the air duct cleaning; as well as the $478 for two filters. I am 83 and my husband is 86 with advanced Parkinsons. I hope our age did not play a part in how much we were charged. Resolution Sought If the other charges were inflated, I would like a refund on them as well as the $375 we overpaid for the filters.
