Homestead Contruction, Remodel & Design, LLC complaints

I called the owner of Homestead Construction and Design about a master bath. Total cost of materials-$20,699.42 Total cost of labor-$8,025.00. He requested $23,106.92 for a down payment which we wrote him a check for on August 16th, 2021. We've been trying to reach out to him for a response as to when he could get started. He does not respond unless I keep texting or emailing him. Its been over 3 months from when I first contacted him. He told us in the beginning that he could get to it right away. We go to FL for the winter and we told him that we need it done before then. He said it would be no problem. We are tired of emailing and texting trying to get a response. We even went to his home address. I called to say we were there and that we didn't know how else to get a hold of him. He text saying he wasn't there and that he doesn't do business out of his home even though he has it listed as the address on his contract. It has been very stressful and more than frustrating to get in contact with him. He has a huge amount of or money and now he won't respond with us. He knows we will be leaving for FL in a month. We do not want our money/supplies left with him if he doesn't plan on doing our work before then. or if at all. At this point, we do not have a good feeling about this and we're not even sure we would trust him in our home now. It's been mentally exhausting to say the least. Resolution Sought We ultimately would like a full refund of $23,106.92. IF there are special order supplies that cannot be returned we would like those along with invoices for those supplies. Supplies that can be returned we would like a refund plus the remaining amount of money that we put down. We are to the point where we are not at all comfortable with him and we do want him in our home.
