Dishonest and does not meet trade standards. Emotionally manipulative in an attempt to get us to accept poor quality work.

We contracted with Horizon for a kitchen, laundry, and bath remodel. They did not give us the lowest price, so we thought we would be getting better quality work than we got. Very little was done with much attention to detail, and most of the project became a struggle to get them to finish the work to trade standards. After two years, we have a shower with faulty waterproofing causing rust, a soggy wall, and swelling shower curb. We also have very poorly installed baseboards, chipped glass in the shower, damage due to a (third) floor installation, lint blowing into our crawl space, a sloppy paint job, and problems with cupboard shelves and doors. They have lied to us, lied to their subcontractors, lied to the "flooring inspector" they brought in, and now they are lying to their bond company. They still refuse to pay us for the damages, and have accused us of causing the defects in workmanship. It has been a nightmare.

We found them to be very honest and trustworthy.

I was extremely apprehensive about hiring Horizon Construction & Remodeling, Inc. due to some unfavorable information I had found. I later began to question the resource itself. I then decided to visit five or six of Horizon’s job sites and talk to all their clients. Everyone was pleased with the quality and service that they were getting. Our original contract with Horizon required removing trees, grass, concrete driveway, sprinklers, and sandblasts the house. Build a six-foot high block wall and create a 30’ x 30’ courtyard in our front yard. The wall would have a line of 8” x 8” slate tile installed on the outside wall. Stamped and colored concrete was to be used for the courtyard and the driveway. Re-stucco the house plus use the same stucco on the block walls. Create five planters inside and out. Install wrought iron gate with a security intercom at the entrance to the courtyard. Create a new area for grass between the wall and the sidewalk and install Marathon grass. Install lights on the wall and low voltage lighting in the planters. Install sprinklers for the planters and the lawn. Floor drains were added to the courtyard, walkway, and all the planters. As we progressed with our project we realized that we needed to add some more height to the existing perimeter block walls, and add stucco, slate and concrete caps. Then we added slate to the interior walls of the courtyard and around the entrance to our front door. Our two sides gates also needed to be replaced with new wrought iron ones. We added lightweight concrete moldings around the windows and garage door. We could not be more pleased with the results. The Horizon crew is very punctual, professional, talented, and really nice guys to have on the job site. Horizon is not the cheapest, but they are the best!
