Customer Complaint

We contracted with in and out floors to get our oak floors sanded and refinished. The floors is full of visible divots, chattermarks, sand marks after the refinishing. In and out has not acknowledged the problem or even sent any one out to look at the look. I hesitated payment as I was unhappy with the final finish which did not seal the grain and they than threatened with lawsuits and lawyers fees. Friends that have seen the floor all comment on the defective sanding. Every time I enter the room I am disappointed. In and out only blows me off when I contact them and have not even sent someone out to verify the problem. Resolution Sought At least a partial refund or pay to have the floors repaired.

Company Response

Company states; We have spoken with the customer multiple times to try to resolve the issue and have not been able to come to a conclusion. 1. The customer against our recommendation added more coats of sealer on top of his floor after our refinisher left the home. When we spoke with the customer we stated that if he put any coats on the flooring that would void the warranty. After speaking with the customer he stated that he did not care and was going to put more coats on the flooring. 2. Our refinisher put down a total of 4 coats. Our pricing includes 3. The customer received a coat for free. The customer stated that we wanted more coats and were not willing to pay for them. 3. Even though the warranty was voided we still offered to perform service to the flooring. 4. Regarding refunding, the customer signed an agreement stating that after the flooring is completed there will be no further discounts or coupons applied to the job after completion. (Agreement attached to this email) As stated above we are willing and able to service our work but will not be discounting the job. Thank you
