I purchased a car from this company that advertised to do multipoint inspections and sell reliable vehicles. I noticed almost immediately there were features on the vehicle that wasn't working properly which I reported the next day. I spoke with the Chevy dealer and they advised me to have diagnostics ran and it had two codes. I then turned in my diagnostics sheet and started a warranty claim. Christmas Day me and my father looked at all the warning lights as we started the vehicle and noticed the check engine light did not work at all. Someone had more than likely removed the bulb which made the vehicle automatically in an unsafe manner. I went forward with my limited warranty claim and they informed me I needed an entire new turbocharger and that I owed them 100 dollar warranty fee. I paid and proceeded to pick the vehicle up and later that night it starts pouring oil out from the turbocharger. They are now making me pay yet another warranty fee to fix something they were supposed to of fixed in the first place. Resolution Sought Help me seek the justice I deserve and for them to either make things right with my car or give me another one within the same price range if possible

Company Response

Company states; Ms. Baker finance a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze with Instant Auto Credit Corp on 12/11/23. She was given a 3 month/3,000- mile limited powertrain warranty. This covers parts of motor, transmission, and powertrain. The turbocharger was not included in the said warranty, just the turbocharger housing as mentioned on the first page of the Limited Warranty Agreement. However, management asked the warranty dept to make an exception and cover the turbocharger since Ms. Baker just purchased the vehicle so recently. The warranty dept agreed. Upon drop off, Ms. Baker signed out general drop off disclosure that ensured she understood our policies. We took the vehicle to an outsourced shop to have the turbocharger replaced. On 1/3/24, Ms. Baker's vehicle was ready for pick up. She picked it up later that day and paid the $100 per occurrence warranty deductible. Ms. Baker then called the next day claiming that the turbocharger fell out of the vehicle and it was pouring oil out. She also began claiming that we removed the check engine light. We advised Ms. Baker that our mechanic was out sick, but we could get it checked out at the outsourced shop. We advised her to have the vehicle towed to the Bookland lot instead. She was not told at this time that any payment for repair would be due, she just signed the same general drop off disclosure as she did prior. Upon the outsourced shop's inspection on 1/5/24, the O-ring at the turbo connector was bad, and the turbocharger was still attached. This was an easy fix that was part of the original work done, so Ms. Baker was not required to pay any fee. We also had this shop inspect Ms. Baker's claims about the check engine light bulb being removed, and they identified that the bulb had burnt out, it had not been removed. She has since picked up the vehicle on 1/5/24 and has not contacted us concerning any further issues. We assisted Ms. Baker despite her warranty not covering it, and only charged her one warranty deductible. It seems this claim was filed prior to us even diagnosing the vehicle the second time to identify the issue or before any discussion of charges that may or may not arise. Thank you for your time.
