Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. If they are considering doing business with the company, consumers can use this indicator to forecast the likelihood of having their issues addressed if a problem arises. CRI measures the company's customer satisfaction abilities through BCA’s complaint mediation process.

A variety of factors are considered when calculating CRI. This includes how quickly a company responds to complaints, the number of complaints against a company, whether the company addressed complaint allegations, and the outcome of the complaints. CRI is just a subset of the overall rating for the company. Consumers are encouraged to take into consideration the company's CRI, their overall BCA letter rating and other relevant information about the company so they can make a well-informed purchasing decision.

Description of complaint: Hello. As you will see with the supporting email that I've pasted below, this is a predatory scheme by Intelius whereby they automatically create a recurring subscription when you do a "one shot deal" tiny purchase of 95 cents yet, if you read the fine print, they will commence charging you $29.78/month if you do not cancel within 7 days. See below: Hi Justine, Thank you for your Intelius® purchase! Here are your order details. Date: 01/07/2023 Item: 1 month Unlimited Address, Phone and Background Reports - 7 Day Trial Quantity: 1 Total: $0.95 Account Last 4: 1027 Terms: If you do not cancel during your 7-day trial, your full membership will begin and you will be charged $29.78. Your membership will automatically renew every 30 days unless you cancel before the start of the next term. Intelius will charge the recurring membership fee of $29.78 to the same payment option you use today until you cancel. To cancel your subscription, call (888) 245-1655 between the hours of 7am and 4pm Pacific Monday - Friday (except holidays) or log in to your account Resolution Sought I would like to receive my full $29.78 x 14 months back ($416.92) and have this company fined and be forced to discontinue this predatory practice. Note: I've also written to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
