This company was contracted through my home warranty. Because they receive commissions for different work orders they try to upsell me on a water heater. They picked the most expensive water heater but it was not compatible with my electrical system for my home. When I told the scheduler I wanted to ask for a second opinion because of the amount they were charging me for modifications and an expansion tank she lied and said I set an appointment and canceled it when the tech was in route which forced me to have to start the process all over again. As a result of now been without hot water for over a month the company keeps given the runaround. Resolution Sought Replace my water heater with the appropriate watt water heater and refund the money charged for the up sell.

This customer is the direct customer of American Home Shield Warranty. As a direct customer of American Home Shield the water heater is provided by the warranty company for the customer under warranty coverage. The warranty company provides the customer water heater as well as selects the vendor to provide the water heater. Upon receiving current water heater's diagnoses AHS in regards require the model and serial number to provide when ordering/purchasing new – replacement water heater determining the same exact measurements of current water heater. JED Plumbing and Gas are the third party vendor and is provided the vendor pick-up information as provided to the purchasing vendor per American Home shield. In regards of the out of pocket cost that the customer is phrasing as upselling costs are costs that are not covered under the home warranty contract that the customer currently has, therefore the warranty company did not provide coverage for such costs amounting $654 which are non-refundable as services were rendered to the customer. The water heater was installed May 12, 2022. We have visited this customer's home four times since installation due to electrical issues. Customer advised to have home warranty company contract an Electrician – since contracting an Electrician no further communication has been maintained with this customer, therefore we will have to consider this complaint as malicious. JED does not select vendor nor make purchase of AHS customer's water heater. The customer was informed of the protocol of water heater replacement between JED Plumbing and Gas and American Home Shield customer's in advance. PER A PREVIOUS CONVERSATION WITH CUSTOMER, THE CUSTOMER HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE ISSUE IS OF AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE AND HAS SINCE CONTRACTED AN ELECTRICIAN WHOM HAS CHANGED AMPERAGE OF FUSE BOX/FUSE.
