Customer Complaint

I purchased a used 2019 Hyundai Elantra from Jimmy the boxer Auto Mall March 7th. May 1st I came out of the store and my car wouldn't start. I call the dealership and at first they wanted me to pay to tow the car to them but I told them I could not so they offered tow it for me. I received a call the next day to say they ran a diagnostic and nothing was wrong and all they did was put a battery in the key fob and I shouldn't have any problems. The next day May 2nd I get off at 11:30 at night from my part-time job and my car doesn't start again. So I had to call to have it towed again that night back to the auto mall. I received a call the next day stating that it was my starter which should have been picked up the first time you did the diagnostic but again they're saying it's the starter and I have to pay $456. I haven't even had the car for 3 months now. Why am I paying for a starter when that should have been something that they knew was wrong before they sold me the car Resolution Sought Not charge me for the repair

Company Response

6/7/2024

Company states: We understand her frustration and we're taking it seriously. As a gesture of goodwill, we've covered the cost of the starter repair for her vehicle, even though it's been three months since she made the purchase. It's important to mention that the customer declined the option for an extended warranty when she bought the car. At Jimmy The Boxer Auto Mall, we pride ourselves on conducting thorough inspections of all our vehicles. However, sometimes issues like a starter malfunction can sneak up on even the best-maintained vehicles, especially pre-owned vehicles. We are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and would be happy to address any further inquires or concerns you may have regarding this matter.
