Company Response
10/22/2021
Back on November 25, 2020, JJ Auto Collision received Vehicle Year: 2006 Make: BMW, Model: 530IT with the following VIN: WBANN73566CN01583 to complete electrical repairs on the vehicle.
After the vehicle had a large percentage of repairs completed, JJ Auto Collision took the initiative to complete testing on the vehicle to confirm that everything was in optimal condition to be delivered to the customer. Once the testing process starts, the vehicle makes a strange reaction and turns itself off in the middle of the street. Immediately it happens, we proceed to request Towing services (the closest available), once the towing service arrives, we proceed to provide the driver with information about what happened and where to take the vehicle back, we move away from the towing truck and the damaged vehicle to avoid obstructing of traffic, so the truck driver can start his protocol of raising the vehicle to the truck bed. Once the vehicle was in the bed of the truck, it was identified, that the truck driver had applied a bad practice and did not make the necessary adjustments to secure the vehicle and the car slipped out of the truck bed affecting more vehicles that were around it, also causing damage to the towed vehicle.
Once all this happened, JJ Auto Collision proceeded to requested that the towing service Company provide their insurance information, since they were responsible for the aforementioned. At no time JJ Auto Collision refused to cooperate with the current case.
JJ Auto Collision provided the information for the towing Company to the client, so they can report the incident to their insurance and take care the additional damages on the vehicle, which the customer did, they reported the incident and open a claim for the additional damages, The towing Company Insurance came to JJ Auto Collision and estimated the additional damages; at that point JJ Auto Collision was not involve at all in the insurance payment process. We obtain copy of the appraisal (Copy provided to BCA for review).
The customer knows that the vehicle is in our possession, the problem here is that the person claiming the vehicle was not the person that dropped the vehicle here to be fixed. The insurance appraisal and the claim was filed under James Anselme as the owner, we need to find out first what happens with the insurance if they pay the claim for the additional damages, second who is the owner of the vehicle, so we can conclude this matter.
