Customer Complaint

April 2019, I was online car shopping. A friend mentioned Johnny Londoff Autoplex in St. Peters. So I went to their website and got pre-approved. I set appointment on 4/10/2019 with Jerry Rose, my salesman. Jerry had me test drive 3 different cars. I chose the Buick Regal and put the $ i had down on the Buick. Which I still have that paper. When I went back with rest of $ and to sign paperwork on what I thought was the Regal, wasn't the case at all. I got there and Jerry had paperwork drawn up on a 2013 Hyandai Sonata Hybrid that I never seen, looked at or drove. Not to mention was above my budget ect. But I ended up test driving and signed papers on it. Jerry ensured this was the best route because he said with this car it would last a good ten years or better. Long story short now I am sitting with this car at 64,000. miles and I've had just a lil over a year and the transmission is out in it. I took into Jerry he said it was covered under warranty and now says it is not covered and refused to help me.. I feel like it should be covered with the amount of time in my ownership and miles. The Management and Jerry have been very misleading and Unprofessional during my time dealing with them. And I'm pretty sure my car has been crashed in the front end and that is something I specified I did not want. I am very dis-satisfied with the business. Very Mis-leading and Dis-honest. Resolution Sought I would just like for them to obviously make right on this. I feel like I was pushhed into this car in the first place. I feel like it should be covered.

Company Response

The following response is from Jerry Rose, the sales person that assisted customer during the process. On April 08, 2020, customer contacted Johnny Londoff Autoplex and submitted an online credit application. She contacted me and said she was in need of a vehicle. On April 10, 2020, she met with me and she drove 3 cars. She chose a Buick Regal with 160,000 miles on it. Her application was submitted to the dealership's lenders on that vehicle. The lenders would not approve her on that vehicle, but did approve her on a 2013 Hyundai Sonata with only 40,000 miles on it. She said she did not want that vehicle and took her deposit back from us. Approximately two weeks later, Mandy contacted me again and asked if the Sonata was still available. She came in and purchased the Sonata. She declined purchasing a warranty at this time. Approximately three months later, she contacted me and said her tire blew out. I personally paid for the car to be towed and personally paid for the tire to be replaced. It appears to me that she hit something with the car and caused the damage. She put approximately 30,000 miles on the Sonata in a little over a year. She came up to the dealership about 2 months ago because she said she was having issues with the transmission. I took the vehicle to the shop. The transmission had no fluid in it, and the transmission was burned up. She had an accident in the vehicle after she purchased it, and I have photos of the vehicle at the time she bought it. There was no damage at that time. I feel her complaints with our dealership are false.

Customer Rebuttal

I never refused any warranty. Hey mislead my mother and I and told us the vehicle came with warranty. And he contacted me regarding the car. And when the transmission went out at 62,000 miles I took to Jerry who said they would have it taken care of. After weeks of him giving me the run around he told me he wasn't going to help me with it addy all and I had to pick it up from midas in O'Fallon. I'm still making payments on this car that sits without a transmission. I am not satisfied. I never recieved any response on this matter. My experience with this company on this matter has been a nightmare. They have been nothing but misleading dishonest and unprofessional.
