Customer Complaint

I have been friends w/ Jason Failor of JSF for years helping him out when he needed it paint work etc. Well when I called on him for help on my 1950 Chrysler. I was not given the same respect. We agreed upon $1000 cash to replace my inner and outer rocker panels. After receiving my car back and continuing to work on sheet metal work that was needed , it was then i noticed things weren't right. They went over the old metal not cutting it out , the rockers were not finished. I called Steve Mounts the inspection mechanic, for his professional opinion. He came looked it over and his response was the rockers were unfinished, unsafe and would not pass inspection. I began taking pics . I presented pics and a nasty gram as he did to me when I questioned other issues that had happened to my car as it was at JSF MOTORSPORTS. I asked for my $1000 back and he told me to pond sand . I told him he had a week or I would file . I filed a civil case on 7-3-2023 I believe. I tried to resolve the issue 2 times . JSF MOTORSPORTS has retained an attorney and is starting to drag this out. I am representing myself for I had given/ invested everything I had in JSF. Totaling $1930 for $1,000 for the work, 400 in materials, 400 in towing and 130 to file. This is not the first time they have done this to people. This I know for fact and have witnesses of this as well. The public needs to know the shady work they do for I would have been killed if had drove my car THANK YOU JSF! Resolution Sought I'd like my money back so I can fix my car and move on that's all I want. I have messages showing Mr. Failor referring to my money as not being much and to do what I got to for a$1,000.... This isn't good business. I need help!

Company Response

Customer requested to have worked performed on his 1950 Chrysler Windsor by JSF Motorsport and Kustoms. He requested only to have his outer rocker panels replaced. He provided the replacement outer rockers. After the outer rockers were removed and installed it was discovered he would need to replace his inner rocker panels. I contacted him and informed him of this information, and he proceeded to come to the shop to inspect the inner rockers himself. He agreed they needed to be replaced as they were completely rusted through. He expressed to me he could not afford to buy replacement inner rocker panels. My employee Rickey Hippensteel was present for this conversation and heard him state he could not afford to fix/purchase additional materials. My employee Rickey then contacted Agar Welding to see if they would be able to cut a piece of steel so we could fabricate inner rocker panels. I advised him to contact Agar Welding shop as they stated they could cut a piece of steel that could be used for his inner rockers. The cost of the inner rocker panels from Agar Welding was $40 total. $20 per side panel. We proceeded to try to put in the inner rockers, however there was very little salvageable material to weld the inner rocker panels to. He was made aware that in order to correctly install in inner rocker panels he would need more fabrication work including additional welding. He then expressed to myself he had no extra money for that type of repair. He states "All I have is $1,000.00". I then explained to him I could not provide any more work as he already exhausted all of his funds. I explained to him the outer rockers were replaced and he would need to finish the remainder replacement of the inner rockers. I expressed that JSF would be able to finish the remainder of the work needed, however he would need to pay the hourly shop rate. He expressed again he did not the funds to pay me to finish the work on his car. He voiced appreciation we were able to get as much done on his car as we did and he would call G.A. Myers to get a rollback sent up to our shop to pick up his car. On 4/7/2023, he contacted me via text message stating a piece of door chrome was bent. I expressed my apologies and went to his house and fixed/straightened the piece of chrome on the door panel. I also delivered his owner's manual and two pieces of chrome were not picked up with the car. He was appreciative I was able to straighten the piece of trim on the door panel. He stated "my neighbor was outside spray painting parts and that is probably where the overspray that is on my car came from". On 6/2/2023, he sent me a very explicit message via Facebook messenger. He stated he had "Steve Mounts" (who is actually Steve Monnett) come down to the shop and tell him that "wow, this is all and should of been included and is part of the inner rocker. We all know the proper way to take care of the rotted metal left in the rocker, both driver and passenger sides need cut our and redone". I tried calling him twice on the phone and he would not answer my call. I then sent him a message to please answer my call. He responded via messenger on 6/13 that "he gave me enough time to send him something, but nothing have it your way". My shop worked on his car for 30hrs during the time frame of 3wks. JSF's shop rate is $70 per hr. 30 hrs x70$/HR=$2,100. He owes JSF the remaining $1,100. He has said multiple times to me in person and in text messages that all he has is $1,000 to fix his car. He has said it in his testimony as well that all he had was $1,000 to give to us to fix his car. I could not withstand losing more money by allowing my employees to work on his car for free. I reached out to himn on 4/7/2023 and explained to him that we have exhausted all the time I could allow my employees to work on his car. And he sent for a rollback to come pickup his car. He claims he paid $400 for materials & feels he should be reimbursed for that amount. I have the receipt showing he paid $480 (rounding up for inner rockers). I also have a copy of what outer rockers cost. 154.50+48.00=$202.50 not $400. He has the materials in his possession that he is requesting reimbursement for. He claims that Greg Myers from G.A. Myers Body Shop charged him $400 for towing his Windsor from his house to JSF, and then from JSF to his house. Greg charged him $85 per trip. He paid a total of $170 for towing expenses. We have the receipt from G.A Myers with his towing expense. Warren claims that he paid $130 for filling fees. The receipt from his civil complaints clearly states $121.25. On page 1 of the civil complaints, it says $121.25 for filing costs and then the very next section he signs his name stating that the facts set forth in this complaint are true and correct to his knowledge. How does $121.25 equal $130.00? Furthermore, how can he falsify his documents when an employee of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania County of Cumberland handwrites the amount?
