I financed a vehicle with Kia finance and my lease was up in 4/2024. I contacted Kia finance in 12/2023 to talk about returning the car due to the passing of my wife. I was told to voluntarily surrender the car to the dealership. I dropped the vehicle off on 12/27/2023 at Jts Kia on Killian Commons Parkway. I am now being charged for the entire price of the car since I wasn't given the option to end my lease early and pay the remaining lease payments and any other fees. The finance company scr*wed me over and chose to charge me for the entire car instead of just paying the remaining lease payments. Resolution Sought I want the business to change the amount owed from the entire car amount to just what I owe from the remaining lease payments and any other fees from 12/2023 to 4/2024

I received a letter from this company reporting I needed to pay them $720.13 for my "primary insurance deductible." This letter was received after a $17,000+ pay out to the company by my auto insurance (GEICO) because of a theft of my car (2021 Kia Forte). After follow up with my auto insurance, who reported no need to pay any deductible to them, I follow up with Kia Finance America. They continued to make attempts to collect this amount of money. After pointing out my deductible is $1,000 under my auto insurance, the rep for Kia Finance America informed me GEICO made a partial payment to them which is why the requested amount wasn't $1,000. There is no reason my auto finance company should be collecting a "primary insurance deductible," which is what it stated on the itemized list provided in the letter especially considering my auto insurance company said I didn't need to pay anything additional and they are the entity determining my deductible. Resolution Sought I want this cost eliminated and any further correspondence between myself and Kia Finance America to cease. I believe this to be negligence or a scam.
