Help!! My 82 years old mother in law and her 80 year old boyfriend purchased a car from Kia of Cape Coral in August last year and were charged $48,000 for a $33,000 vehicle and sold $6000 worth of warranties and insurance on top of that. This was the first new car either of them had purchased in many many years. They did/do not understand the crazy vehicle market right now. They put $19,400 down which included $7400 in equity on a trade and $12,000 cash. They borrowed $38,000, more than the car is worth. Their payment is $625 per month for 75 months. Since then my mother in law was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and her boyfriend suffered a stroke. They barely drive the car now. The dealership is willing to cancel a few of the warranties but they are still out their $19,400 down payment and now we need that money for their care. The dealership is not sympathetic and unwilling to refund any of the money, when many people in the car sales business have told me that they can easily cut a check and make it right. I've contacted the Attorney General in Florida and they are looking into it but it doesn't sound like they will get very far with it. I need help exposing these crooks and getting some of my mother in laws money back!! Please help!!! Resolution Sought Would like to get a refund of what my mother-in-law paid over the sticker price so the loan can be paid down and refinanced to a lower payment.
