Customer Complaint
7/24/2023
Consumer states; On 3/8/2023, in the evening was an appt with King Carpet owner LaRonte Benion, of MI concerning the basement carpet. He brought a lot of samples that were out dated, still asking to pick one. I picked one, however, it would take 2 days, Benion said. As we were in the basement Benion started moving furniture pieces, as if the carpet was going to be delivered the next day. Then he got a check for $520, the total was $1000, $20 added because Benion said it was needed because he didn't have a bank account & would cost him to cash it at PNC Bank. Come to find out the choice was an older brand, & was no longer in stock, on the phone Benion stated, he would come back with more samples. Benion did bring new samples, but did not like them, as it didn't go with the existing downstairs carpet on the steps. This is when Benion asked for an extra $100 if he could bring the guy with him inside to move the sofa, again as a $100 tip for moving the furniture. He was told "NO". Also, asked if he could bring padding inside to put in basement, told "NO", you don't have a product to sell me yet, & I might want my money back". Benion went into his pocket took out $100 bills, & said "returning the money isn't a problem" This is when I believe this is when I started feeling like something wasn't right about LaRonte Benion. Now it's March 29, 2023, with no returned calls, no product, and no returned money of $520.00. As of today, all calls from our phone #'s are blocked.
