KBC of Palm Springs, LLC - Top down mismanagement including convoluted accounting/billing and subcontracting practices

Over the past 12 months, We had a kitchen, bath and closet redesign done by Kitchen, Bath and Closets, LLC DBA KBC of Palm Springs, LLC located on 73-790 El Paseo Drive, Palm Desert, formerly located on 462 S. Palm Canyon, Palm Springs.

KBC’s owner and President, Benjamin Sullivan, operates this retail/design business and subcontracts out the installation and fabrication work. Our experience with this project was that it was riddled with ongoing inaccurate accounting for products and services and the inability (due to some “computer crash” with no backup system?) to produce associated copies of original invoices/receipts. In general, we were improperly billed i.e., doubled billed for products, billed for products never received/installed; and billed for “bundled” shipping and delivery charges which were not transparent.

We spent hours examining and trying to reconcile billing states, missing products (kitchen cabinets, hardware and floor tile) and various installation and delivery issues with appliances and poor fabrication of counter tops. We also spent an inordinate amount of time managing the project for KBC throughout this project. They were essentially missing in action. At our request, we met mid project with Mr. Sullivan who was dismissive and elusive with excuses stating that: we had gotten caught in the middle of increased client workloads; there was insufficient KBC staff; and it was hard to find good project managers in the valley. Unfortunately, we and the rest of the project suffered for that which he acknowledged but offered no viable solutions.

We do not recommend KBC.
