I was hospitalized on June 30th 2021. When I was admitted, I provided the clerk with my VA authorization number for billing which was VA 9001213743. Someone filed this with my NC state health plan instead of with the VA. I got a bill for services and contacted billing in August of last year and advised them that they needed to file this bill with the VA and again provided the VA authorization number. I assumed this matter was taken care of until I got a call from Paragon Revenue Group stating I owed this bill. I got upset and said I wasn't paying it because LNRMC failed to properly file the correct insurance. John at Paragon didn't want to hear anything about the VA and said I owed the bill. I discontinued this conversation and called the VA Community Care Coordinator. She attempted to contact John at Paragon and he refused to talk to her and hung up. I contacted the National Community Care Coordinator and they contacted LNRMC and advised them this should bill should have been filed with the VA. LNRMC finally filed the billing to the VA and it was denied as LNRMC failed to file the claim in the alloted time allowed for filing. This collection has been placed on my credit report and has severely affected my credit. It is difficult getting hold of the billing office by phone. You are on hold for 30 minutes or longer. I talked to Cindy on 10/22, she advised the case was in review. I have not heard anything back, I was disconnected after holding for 30 min Resolution Sought LNRMC failed to file the proper insurance with the VA in the time alloted by contract. This should have never been placed on my credit report. Thank you for your assistance.
