Ms. Ferrara contacted my office, Larry Pitt and Associates August of 2020. Ms Ferrara was seeking representation for her social security disability matter as she had recently had her application denied. I interviewed her, and agreed to take her case which involved; completing an intake and opening a new file. My office paralegal dispatched paperwork which included authorization for representation and a fee agreement which required Ms. Ferrara's signature. Ms Ferrara signed and returned the paperwork which was then submitted to the Social Security Administration. Several months later in July 2021, Ms Ferrara's application was approved and a Notice of Award was issued. This paperwork contained the attorneys name as Ms. Ferrara had appointed Larry Pitt and Associates to represent her. Although Ms Ferrara's application did not require a hearing, the attorney and staff put several hours of work into her case. Ms Farrell contacted the office in September 2021, seeking a withdrawal from counsel after a successful outcome. I indicated to Ms Ferrara that after a year of representation it was not possible to withdraw. I attempted to explain the issue to her but she did not except any other remedy but my firms withdraw. I am sorry Ms Ferrara was not satisfied. I am always available for questions and issues my clients may have, and I usually have a very good relationship with them. I feel Ms. Ferrara's dissatisfaction is her wish not want to compensate the attorney for work performed on her case which had a favorable outcome. However, I have discussed this issue with Larry Pitt and management and we have all decided in light of the Claimant's disability and current mind set we will not seek a fee in her case.
