I booked 5 tickets from traverse city to Portland Oregon for July 17-24. Before booking, I read through the disclaimer and the rules and restrictions. I ordered the tickets and then I got a call from the agency. They said they needed to go through the rules and restrictions with me. I said yes, I read them online. He then proceeded to tell me that we were not allowed to bring luggage with us. I tried to tell him that no where on the website did it say that. He said there was nothing he could do and the tickets were non refundable. I tried to cancel the order and I was told. It could not be. He then pushed through the payment to the credit card on file but never submitted my request to the airline. I called the next day to see why I hadn't gotten the confirmation from the airline or from them that the payment was processed. It was then that he informed me that he had not submitted it because he put it on hold. He told me there was nothing he could do so why was it on hold? He could not answer that question. I asked him to put through the request and he told me he couldn't because it had been 3 days and the same price was no longer available. It had not even been 24 hours since I ordered the tickets. After clearing that up, he said he would submit the tickets and call me back in 3 hours. Over 5 hours later, I called him back. He said that he was not able to submit them because there were no longer 5 tickets available. Resolution Sought At this point, I just want a refund. I will never go through this company again.

With the information provided in the attached we cannot locate your booking nor can our finance team locate a charge. We understand the booking may not be in the name or email provided in this complaint and therefore we are reaching out with request for additional details ; your booking reference code, the name/s of the passengers, perhaps the date of booking, or email address used for the booking . Company states; We are now in receipt of the clients confirmation and booking details and we once again confirm this is not our booking. This booking was made with an entirely different company , on the confirmation submitted by the client there is a phone number where she can be assisted by the company who is responsible. Again, this simply is not our customer we ask you please update your records.

This website advertising false information about ticket prices. They advertise a certain price and immediately after you spend time to put all the information and click "reserve" , they claim that the price has changed and it is now so and so that is way much higher than advertised. They claim that the airlines changed the prices and actually, it is not as even when I came back after a long time, they still advertise the same prices. The trick that they do is to lure customers to call them and try to sell them at the higher prices. They play this trick all the time which never happens on other sites. This behavior is considered false advertisement and it is very unfair to customers and we strongly feel that we are cheated with our time. Please take the proper actions to address this issue. Resolution Sought To address the issue and warn Smartfares company of the false advertisement tricks to protect customers.
