We were forced to move in within 2 weeks of our decision to choose this property (Feb 21) forcing us to pay rent here as well as where where we had been living which required a month's notice. The duplex was clearly not move-in ready. It wasn't not cleaned properly or professionally (one example: hair in tub!), white painted doors filthy, tiles on kitchen walls filthy. Our realtor cleaned it herself stating "why should the owner pay $300 for cleaning?" Our washer didn't have hot water, our dryer vented into the house, we did not have garbage cans for two weeks, we are still missing a screen for a window, and the kitchen vent which were both promised to be replaced within 2 weeks of move-in. Requests for an ETA on these issues have been ignored. About a week after move-in we had two groups of people show up one morning to go thru the duplex unannounced without the 24-hr notice. They were surprised, claimed we should have had a note on door. No note to my neighbor or me. Two days ago my neighbor found out this property was sold end of March, they no longer manage it, they don't know the owner or management! We received no notice whatsoever about any changes, how to request maintenance, or even how to pay rent! Then after my neighbor found this out, I received a text msg that Legacy no longer manages the property, it was sold at the end of March and they have no information on the buyer or management. We also had issues around disability accommodations: handrails esp in tub, ramp Resolution Sought I would like to at least be refunded the amount of $423.75 which is for the period of time Feb 21-28. Some of our problems have been resolved, but we still need a screen for our window, a vent fan in our kitchen, and our bathroom door needs to be painted. These are requests that have been promised and ignored.

Thank you for forwarding this complaint to us. We no longer manage the property as of two months ago as our client and owner of the property sold the property to another investor who manages the property. The previous owner is no longer a client of ours. The issues with the property are from the remodel the prior property owner completed themselves. We do not have funding from the prior owner or legal ability to be able to reimburse her for the rent she is asking for. The client was not forced to take the unit, she had the option to not take the unit and we would have rented it to the next person in line. We were not able to leave the unit vacant to accommodate her schedule as we had other candidates who wanted the unit right away. We simply gave her the option to move in within two weeks or pass on the unit. She chose to take the unit. We addressed the work orders they requested as they were sent into us by the tenant. I would suggest going to the current owner and submitting work orders for the repairs that are needed. The legal liability to complete those repair requests were transferred at the sale of the property.
