I purchased my 2011 Chevy equinox From Liberty Motors on May 14, 2022. The morning I came to purchase it. I watched them drive it off the lot, I asked the salesman where it was going he said to get the oil changed. The Carfax show that the only oil change that has happened on this car in the last year is the one I paid for myself in June 2022. 3 days after driving off the lot my check engine light came on. contacted the salesman thru text message and let him know. He told me to take it to their mechanic, but he couldn't look at it for two week, so they told me to take it to another auto shop up the road from their car lot. said it was the Cadillac converter code, two weeks later had it in their shop to get that replaced. Less than a month later I was having issues with it chugging and smelling of burnt oil and lots of smoke coming from the exhaust, texted the salesman again let him know it was having the same issues, sent me back to the same mechanic that had supposedly changed my Cadillac converter out. on this day we discovered there was no oil in my engine at all six weeks after purchasing it. No diagnostic was done that day. They just told me to keep oil in it and check it often & it should be fine. upon trying to get all of the information on what has been done to my car in the last seven months there is no invoice # for anything being done on my car in their shop other than a diagnostic that I paid for in November 2022, where they discovered my engine is indeed failin Resolution Sought I would like them to either trade me straight across for another car that the engine is not about to fail in, or pay a good chunk of having a new engine put in it! I honestly believe they knew that something was wrong with it & just had the check engine light turned off the day that I bought it instead of changing the oil where there is no record of that being done. The car was sold 7 months ago AS IS. At The time of purchase, Ms Layton was offered a warranty by her lender which she declined. We are sorry she is having problems with her vehicle and have offered to repair it at our cost. We are not the Lein holder and we wish her the Best.
