I bought a used 99 Dodge Ram, and was told I had to pay an extra $3000 cash deposit because it was in such "good shape". Yet, 47 days later, this great truck, came to a crawl and eventually a complete stop. I had to have it towed home where multiple people informed me it was the tranny that just went out. One friend who used to work in a junk yard and who knows all of the tricks of the trade, checked the tranny fluid which was full, and appeared clean, yet smelt burnt if not down right rancid, indicating that something called "SLIP" was most likely added to the tranny just to get it thru the sale. When I tried to get a resolution, I was basically given the run around, followed by no response at all. I'm not sure what recourse I have but there must be some as it's under 60 days since purchase. Please advise. Thanks Resolution Sought Either fix the tranny to working order or refund the $3000 extra down payment so I can replace tranny or trade me a different truck. I knew everything went too smoothly. As they say, if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I'm so disappointed.
