I came to this restaurant located in West Chicago with my family, when we arrived we were asked to sit wherever we wish, we ordered our food as normal with out any problem, as our food arrived we immediately notice that our food was missing some of the main ingredients such as limes for our tacos and cheese for our Sope, we kindly asked the server if she could bring us some of this missing main ingredients to which she asked if I wanted to place an order for a side of this ingredients? To which, we replied to her that those ingredients are part of our dish we do not wish to order a side. Server did not reply to my statement, she did bring us the missing ingredients. When we were ready to pay we asked for our check to review and server just stated we could get our check at the register located by the main entrance. We asked for the check to review and check was denied by the lady at the register, she then told me that she will give me a detail receipt after my payment, I wanted to check since the total she was giving me did not make sense based on our calculations. After I paid she then stated that I was charged for extra stuff, we ordered, I told her that we never ordered extra, we only requested was missing from our food, then she replied that she also added a 15 of gratitude tip of $9.00 dollars and some change and an additional $3.00 dollars to use my credit card. All of this was not mentioned to us before and my understanding is that there's no law in the state of IL. Resolution Sought Advertise from the beginning to avoid unexpected charges and not to force consumers to pay a tip, that's why is a tip, how do they know we had a good experience?, how do they know I have the amount they are expecting me to tip? (there's no Illinois law for us Consumers to be forced to pay a gratuity or merchant credit card fee). I will like my estimated 16.00 back I feel I was over charged
