I hired my neighbor to make my wheelchair bound son's bathroom and bedroom handicap accessible. He put the door against the shower, light switches behind the door and the commode has no vent pipe. This man stole our commode tank lid and all the new wall plugs we just bought. He never gave us an estimate nor receipts for cash we paid. We ended up paying $4,100.00 of the $4,500.00 he said he expected but he claims we still owe $2,000.00. We have proof to the contrary. The job began in January ne, 2022. He quit in November and did not finish. My son can't use his bathroom as it wasn't completed. We can't just buy a tank lid so have to buy another commode. This man has no valid Business License or Contractor's License. He drives by our place and yells threats. He sent a bogus Construction Lien to scare us. He took videos inside our home without permission. We have contacted the BBB, the Dept of Agriculture Consumer Division, the Governor, the Sheriff and more. I am a Senior over 65 and a Disabled Veteran. My son is Disabled in a wheelchair. We feel we are being taken advantage of. We just want the work done and the bathroom usable and this man stopped from doing the same thing to others. We'd hired him in good faith. He also never finished my bedroom floor which is still bare plywood. Resolution Sought Either complete the promised work and return all items he stole from us or give us our money we paid him back so we can find a Licensed person to complete the work.
