I came to the store with the social security check in the amount of $1,400 I asked if my check can be cashed the address on the check was a previous address not in Versailles due to covid my ID was an address not in Versailles but the owner knows my mother as well as myself so he stated that he would charge me $100 to cash my check I later was informed that he only charges $4 to $8 to cash checks. So I proceeded to call him the next day inquiring about the check fee he stated to me that he could charge whatever amount he wanted to to cash checks it was a treasury social security check there was nothing fraudulent about it he also stated to me my only option was bring him his money back until give me my check I was not rude talk to him in a calm manner and he proceeded to say that I was accusing him of doing something illegal I'm appalled at the fact that you took advantage of someone who is disabled cashing a social security check and the deciding how much he wanted to charge It's a Robbery. No one should be able to pick and choose the cash checking fee amount according to their mood he proceeded to tell me that payroll checks are different this was a social security check from the treasury there was nothing fraudulent about the check he should not be allowed to cash any checks at his place of business since he chooses to rob disabled people. Resolution Sought I would like for him to refund me my hundred dollars because it's outrageous to charge somebody that much to cash a check I have no vehicle this is the closest place that I can get to to receive my funds again I am disabled he took advantage of me. Its wrong I should have been able to cash my check at a reasonable rate.
