I made 29 payments of 116 and my payoff was around 800 i was no longer able to make the monthly payments so i offered an 800 buyout which was accepted on 7/08/24 I paid 800 cash to Mariner and it is still showing a balance on my account I called they said it would be removed next month I have a paper that says my account is paid in full. I want to file now in case it is not removed next month. I do not trust them. Resolution Sought My account closed and zeroed out as was promised to me I have paper work showing that you closed my account.

Thank you for contacting us. We are sorry to hear Mr. Kent’s sentiments regarding his experience with Mariner Finance, LLC (“Mariner”). Mariner makes accurate account experience information available to the nationwide Credit Reporting Agencies (CRA) by the fifth day of every month, reflecting updates from the month prior. With Mr. Kent having paid the account on July 15, 2024, the updated account experience information will be made available to the CRAs by the 5th day of August. The CRAs have their own internal policies and procedures that determine when the updated information is displayed in consumer reports. Paid off a loan with Mariner Finance through Capital One. After weeks I called Capital One and Capital One gave me tracking numbers proving that the pay off was sent. I called Mariner Finance and was told to hold on they needed to check the mailbox because they were so busy it's been numerous days since mailbox was checked. Capital One's payoff was in Mariner's mailbox for days and then Mariner charged me more interest which is not fair Mariner called for the payoff Capital sent it and I get scr*wed out of around 40 dollars. I want my money back. Plus NC and numerous other states are suing Mariner for breaking the lending laws and predatory business practices. Resolution Sought Give me back my 40 dollars

Thank you for contacting us. Mariner Finance, LLC takes customer concerns seriously, and our Customer Relations Department has thoroughly researched this complaint. Based on our review, Mr. David and Capital One was originally quoted a payoff good through March 14, 2024. Mariner received a payment in the amount of $17,622.57, which was immediately applied to the account, effectively paying off in full. Paid in full documents including an overpayment check in the amount of $498.98 was sent to Mr. David on 4/3/24, per Mariner's policy. Mr. David's claim that Mariner neglected to check the mail resulted in additional interest is inaccurate, and the difference in refund is attributed in the payoff not being received until 3/19/24.
