Hired this business to inspect a home I was buying. The realtor I was working with said she had used him before. She was here during the inspection (we were not) and told us he didn't show up, instead a younger man she assumed was his son. The inspection failed to mention an in operable HVAC system, sewage and water leaks on the crawl space. We hired a Plumber and HVAC outfit to address these issues. I contacted the inspector, whom I've never met, and asked him how he missed these major home systems? He told me the guy who inspected the home had been away for a week, but would speak to him when he returned and get back with me. A week passed and I called him again. He told me that because the home was a custom build, he had inspected it himself. I told him about the issues and he said to send him the bills. I sent them to him and he will not reply. I have two issues: (1)the inspection failed to note any deficiencies with the water or plumbing, which are major home systems. (2) I don't think the person I spoke to and signed the inspection document actually inspected this home, as the realtor said she had used him before and it was not him who showed up to do the inspection. Either way, I paid this guy $600 to inspect the home and so far have spent over $2500 getting things fixed so we can live in the home. The plumber said the damage from the water/sewage leaks appeared to have been going on for quite a while and the damage to the crawl space is extensive. Please help Resolution Sought Home inspector pay for all costs associated with repairs already completed and future costs to repair the crawl space. Thanks you
