I took my lamp to this business to have the apparatus that turns the bulb on repaired. I get a call to come pick it up this past Saturday 12 Nov 2022. The sale owner told me the cost was $70.00 He then took my card and charged me 85.00 never said a word about charging me 85.00 nor did he give me a receipt. There were many people in the store so I knew that I could check my on line banking to see the charge, so I left the store. When I called back to ask why he charged me 85.00 when he told me $70.00 the shop was closed. I had to wait three days because they didn't open until this past Tuesday 15 November 2022. I called on Tuesday to ask why he charged me 85.00 when he said $ 70.00. The wife said they repaired the smaller lights on the lamp that I distinctly remember telling them that I didn't care about those lights. She said it was difficult to repair the lights. I told her that her husband did not inform me that he would be charging my debit card for $85.00 and that he did not provide me with a receipt. So she sent the receipt over the phone to me. He had not received permission for the amount of money he took and I consider that stealing because he could have corrected the amount to get my permission, and the fact that he said nothing at all concerns me. Resolution Sought I would like to be charged a reasonable amount for what I took the lamp in there for. The one apparatus I asked to be repaired and charged a fair amount.

The $70 was an ESTIMATE and total came to $80 on the repair (balance was tax.) More complicated than originally thought as had to rewire all parts of lamp apparatus to make lamp safe to use. She called for clarification of charges, but never said unhappy or overcharged or we would have addressed that at the time. Her husband signed for the charges. $10 over estimate does not require an authorization. IT IS AN ESTIMATE.
