Had an oil change done at meineke In June or july,check engine light came on took car to kia where it was bought thinking it was a warranty issue ,Kia took a video aftermarket oil filter was improperly installed ,Car didn't leave oil on the ground because heat shield was catching the oil ,Car is brand new only has 27000 miles on ,it now needs an engine due to improperly installed oil filter.Have been to meineke owner is refusing to pay. Resolution Sought I want to them to pay to fix my car

The car was in the shop over 6 months ago and he put put over 7,000 miles on it. We are not going to be warrantying or responsible for anything because we don't know what happened during those six months and he's way over due for oil changes. The customer has multiple, multiple warnings about the oil pressure, lights and all, but it looks like he ignored them until the end. So we are definitely not responsible for any of this. As far as I'm concerned, everything was done right. And if there was any problem what so ever, it wouldn't take in seven months to surface up.
