I brought my Jeep in for an oil leak. I was told it was the oil filter housing and it would need to be replaced. I was told it would cost $931.45 part and labor, I agreed to have the work done. October 2023. I picked up my Jeep and paid for the repair. After about 4 months the issue returned. With my failed confidence in Meineke I made the decision to take my Jeep to a more reliable garage. I called Gardner Automotive in Worcester. I told the counter person that I have an oil leak. I did not tell them that the Jeep just had a repair done, I wanted to see if it was the same issue. Gardner Auto states that it is the oil filter housing (same as last repair). Upon removal, they found the o ring was pinched causing the leak this time. They stated it was installed incorrectly, and was most likely dropped prior to installation. They stated the original installer should have noticed. I thanked them for their honesty. They gave me the part to show me what they could see. I went back to talk with Meineke to see if they would refund my money. I ask to talk with the owner or manager. The manager came out to talk with me. I expanded to him that I just had to have the same repair done to my Jeep. I showed the manager the invoice that Gardner gave me that states that the last repair caused the leak I also told him I have the part to show him. He said why did i not bring it back to they for the repair. I explained that I did not have confidence in the repairs they originally had performed Resolution Sought I would like to get a full refund for the repair. I have the part to give Meineke they can return the part for a credit. I also contacted Meineke corporate customer service to see if they would help me with this matter. They said they do not take responsibility for issues with their franchisees. It should be noted that they lost a lawsuit in 6/2020. The court ruled they cannot separate themselves from their franchisees in matters such as this.
