I mistakenly called Mepco Home Warranty, They sent mail to me, when I called, they started telling me, my home would be red flaged, and that I wouldn't be able to live in my home no more unless I took their Home Warranty,. I have a bit of Dementia, they had me crying, force sold me, They told me they where going to charge me $231..00 a month, I told them during the call to cancel it, and they wouldn't, and forced me to take it. I could not afford it, so I wasn't able to pay for it. Now in just 4 months they have charged compounded rates, the bill is $4,200.00 and plus more just to cancel, for something I haven't even used and told them to cancel. They used threats, they where very abusive towards me during the call. It has been a nightmare, they keep calling me, I block one number, and they just keep calling from a different number. I had to change my banking information. I don't want their product and are forcing me, and are going to charge me more to cancel. I can barely pay my Mortgage, my other bills, Utilities, and food to eat. What makes it even worse, my husband has cancer. One day he won't be able to work part-time any more, I don't know what we are going to do, I guess lose my home. Just because these Warranty companies are notorious for preying upon the elderly, I am 60, and my husband is 68, I guess will be put in the streets. Resolution Sought I would like them to drop the account and not charge me the $4,200.00 plus what they are going to charge me to cancel, they prey upon older people, and will force me and my husband to lose our home. He has CANCER, and should not have to lose his home, that is not fair to him or me. I would like to stay living in my home without them bankrupting us. I even told them we could afford it, and that my husband has cancer. They are so heartless and don't care due to their beyond greed.

Mepco has no involvement in the development, marketing, sale, claims processing activities, or other administration of these service contracts, and Mepco does not engage in any form of telemarketing. I opted out of the home warranty service within the limited time after reading the contract #HAS105312072 also spoke to 3 customer service finance mgrs on 3 different dates who assured me that this was cancelled and the initial $295 deposit we be refunded to my bank, no refund yet but an additional $157.29 was taken from my account on 12/1/23. Resolution Sought Refund of $295.00 plus an additional unauthorized $157.29 from my bank account on 12/1/23 that was taken.

Company states; In response to the specific allegations in the consumer's complaint, please understand that Mepco services payment plans for providers of service contracts. Mepco has no involvement in the development, marketing, sale, claims processing activities, or other administration of these service contracts, and Mepco does not engage in any form of telemarketing. Ms. Walker was contacted not by Mepco, but by Home Warranty Services to be provided a service contract. As well, Home Warranty Services arranged with Ms. Walker for making monthly payments and the terms of the contract. Mepco received the payment plan information from Home Warranty Services and set up an account for billing and collection based on that information. Mepco is only the servicer of the payment plan related to the service contract, sending bills and collecting payments, and is not the seller or administrator of the service contract. As a result, Mepco is unable to directly respond to the specific issues in the customer's complaint. However, Mepco takes all customer concerns seriously and has therefore forwarded your complaint to the selling agent, Home Warranty Services, and the contract administrator, Homeassure, for resolution. Since Mepco only services the payment plan (collection of payments), Ms. Walker would need to contact their offices directly for any information regarding discrepancies with product representation, service reimbursement, cancellations, reinstatements, refunds, or any service contract related issues.
