I mistakenly called Mepco Home Warranty, They sent mail to me, when I called, they started telling me, my home would be red flaged, and that I wouldn't be able to live in my home no more unless I took their Home Warranty,. I have a bit of Dementia, they had me crying, force sold me, They told me they where going to charge me $231..00 a month, I told them during the call to cancel it, and they wouldn't, and forced me to take it. I could not afford it, so I wasn't able to pay for it. Now in just 4 months they have charged compounded rates, the bill is $4,200.00 and plus more just to cancel, for something I haven't even used and told them to cancel. They used threats, they where very abusive towards me during the call. It has been a nightmare, they keep calling me, I block one number, and they just keep calling from a different number. I had to change my banking information. I don't want their product and are forcing me, and are going to charge me more to cancel. I can barely pay my Mortgage, my other bills, Utilities, and food to eat. What makes it even worse, my husband has cancer. One day he won't be able to work part-time any more, I don't know what we are going to do, I guess lose my home. Just because these Warranty companies are notorious for preying upon the elderly, I am 60, and my husband is 68, I guess will be put in the streets.
Resolution Sought
I would like them to drop the account and not charge me the $4,200.00 plus what they are going to charge me to cancel, they prey upon older people, and will force me and my husband to lose our home. He has CANCER, and should not have to lose his home, that is not fair to him or me. I would like to stay living in my home without them bankrupting us. I even told them we could afford it, and that my husband has cancer. They are so heartless and don't care due to their beyond greed.
