As best I can determine. Meramak is the oldest credit card company in America. The California office is no longer office, But the main corporate office is now in St. Petersburg Florida. Phone 800-597-3140

DO NOT TO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY

I have never taken the time to write a review about a company (positive or negative)...until now. Meramak in Brea California is by far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. The company has two customer service representatives and they NEVER respond to emails or telephone messages and rarely answer the company phone. When you do actually speak to them they have the power to fix nothing but are happy to give you incorrect information. The problem started when I attempted to properly close my account (at this point completely satisfied) and I was subsequently misinformed by one of the company's representatives on how do do this. As a result my company was charged a breech of contract fee and then continued to have hundreds of dollars withdrawn from our business bank account over a series of six months, all without our permission. Our bank even put a fraud freeze on Meramak's withdrawals and Meramak used their ability as a credit card processing company to circumvent the bank fraud freeze and continue to withdraw money. Our next step is to involve the police.The owner of the company Mark Lapotaire leads by example in that he does not return phone calls or emails and he gladly takes hard earned money from other small businesses without their permission. As is often said, if I could give ZERO stars I would. One star is WAY too many.You have been warned!
