My grandmother passed away 3/18/2001 and I was a beneficiary to her insurance policy and when I called metropolitan life in Tulsa Oklahoma they told me they had no record of it but after seven years they throw everything away and said that it had to of been paid but I didn't get it and neither did my father who is her son so when I asked to speak to somebody else in charge she said I'll give it to my manager and he'll contact you probably via email. When I got the letter it said the exact same thing that the lady said over the phone nobody's talking to me and nobody else say anything I've got the Anniversary statement from 1992 for my grandmother that my dad just found and I want this handled and it taken care of . And as far as the amount that was the amount on the policy in 1992., So there's no telling how much I'm actually owed.. Does the policy increase every year because from 1992 untill now is a long time and a lot more money. Resolution Sought My desired outcome is that I be paid it's the only outcome I'm gonna except I can take this to the press whatever I have to do I don't care but pay my pay the beneficiary policy

After more than 50 years, I was contacted by Met Life about a life insurance policy application I completed as a full time student working my way through college. They eventually produced a copy of the original document but no records of any payments having been made by me or anyone on this account. A loan was created by the company to cover the premium payments during this time which has resulted in a balance that is 3X the face value of the policy. They have now taken the punitive step of calculating a taxable gain to me of $22,622.30. It is their intention to report this to the IRS and issue a 1099 next January. This is an entirely unreasonable burden to place on someone over 70 years old who didn't know until recently that this policy even existed. I have no intention of reinstating a completely worthless whole life policy at my age and hope to have the matter resolved in some other way than causing me even more financial problems. Thank you. Resolution Sought I am hoping that a company with the kind of resources that Met Life has at their disposal, will see this "loan" as an internal paper transaction and write it off as bad debt and not move forward with any further action.
