I recently hired Michaels to move our items from Calabasas to Grand Junction. The customer service along the way has been less than awesome. We were originally quoted $4800 to move. After the mover loaded everything on the truck, I was told it was going to be almost 2k more. I understand that this was a quote and quotes can change, but almost 2k? I work in the bike service industry and I hand out quotes often. To be this off on a quote seems like a bait and switch tactic to lowball the other movers. It seems unprofessional. I had budgeted out 1k for additional costs, assuming you guys had been doing this for 20 years and you knew how to give an accurate quote. Though I'm unhappy about the quote, this isn't my main reason for my email. The mover asked me when I wanted our families items to arrive. I said ASAP. He said he should be able to get it out within a week. When my wife called for an update, Michaels said the truck had mechanical issues and they had it in for service. Why weren't we updated on this? Michaels said they would call back the next day for an update. It's been a week now and there has been no call back. When I tell a customer I'll call back on a day, I do it. In the service industry, it's common practice to under promise and over deliver. At the very least, follow through with what you told a customer. I have called four times today and no one has answered a phone call. For someone who has been in business for twenty years, Resolution Sought Honor our quote due to horrible customer service
