Someone need to look into mid Carolina charging people for their mistakes. to the tune of 7200$$$. We had to set a pole by the electrical transformer. so, we called mid Carolina out to mark a safe location for installation. They did so and put in marker for the new pole location. We installed pole and low and behold it was not a safe location an underground utility was hit. I feel there is some negligence here on mid Carolinas part!! why would they not explain that the marker they set is not safe and just reference point. I figured the transformer itself would be reference point. It's very confusing why you would call out their lineman to mark pole location then charge me for the pole not properly marked. 7200$ seems a bit much and seems like they need to own up to their lineman's mistake. Why call a company out to spot a pole and they decide it's not the responsibility of them to mark Their lines. This 7200$$ bill makes no sense but it a monopoly what can a person do. Resolution Sought Drop the absurd bill and take ownership of their short comings. It's their utility lines why would they not mark them knowing that a pole was going in or at least tell someone what needed be done. I do not work for mid Carolina i do not know their guidelines I would have assumed calling them out to spot the pole is what needed be done.
