Customer Complaint

I paid my mortgage for the month of April and May. I also received a voucher from the the salvation army to assist with my mortgage in April . I would like my extra payment applied to my principal and a manager name Jen is refusing to do so. Even if they want to use the money from the salvation army to apply towards principal and interest. It doesn't matter because then the extra money I sent. I would like it sent all towards principal either way it will still be an extra principal payment. Legally they cannot refused to apply my extra payment how I see fit Resolution Sought For the month of May a total of 951.09 was received by Midwest I would like 415.03 applied to my principal.

Company Response

5/25/2021

Company states: This is the exact same complaint received through the Better Business Bureau on May 5, 2021 and responded to on May 6, 2021. Our same response is as follows: I have carefully read through your complaint and completed a thorough review of your loan. Upon my review, I found that we are set to receive a payment from the Salvation Army that they have identified as a Principal and Interest payment for the May payment on your loan. The documents we have received to date indicate that this payment is to be applied as such. The amount we will receive is $221.99. Per your Mortgage, we cannot post a partial payment. However, you have already completed the May payment for your Mortgage and now owe for the June, 2021 payment. Because of this, once we receive the payment of $314.07 we will apply this to the principal balance per your request. I trust that his letter addresses your concerns regarding the payment posting concerns you had and your request to adjust your payments accordingly.
