I had purchased 2016 Kia Sorento from them in late October of 2021 was told everything was perfect with the car and was never told the there were recalls/updates that weren't done to the vehicle before or after purchasing the vehicle. I had a rod just out of no where go through the motor and found out when I called Kia to see if there was any warranties on the motor still because it's under 100,000 miles all oil changes have been kept up with since purchasing the vehicle, I actually took it to get an oil change because it was due when I found out about the motor so they wouldn't do the oil change. Kia told me there was an update that needed to be done for any possible future motor problems that could occur that wasn't, that would have given my motor a lifetime warranty if it was done that Mike Anderson failed to tell me about when getting the car going against what Kia told me that its in Kia's policy that I was to have been informed before the purchase to be made aware. This has now cost me my vehicle being fixed and they are saying that it's my fault because of whatever I could have done to it in the time that I've had it that the motor was perfect when sold which was clearly not perfect if an update that was suppose to be done was never done and never mentioned. Resolution Sought I would like them to replace the motor of my vehicle with a brand new one that I would have got if I would have been told about the update that needed to be done that would have covered my motor and would have been given a brand new one under the warranty that would have been in place had I know about it when purchasing the vehicle

Customer purchased the vehicle 10/8/21 with 87964 miles. Inspection and oil change was done by this dealer within 30 days prior to sale. Customer opted not to purchase an extended warranty. Engine failure happened somewhere around 6/10/22 with over 98000 miles. This dealer suggested that the customer call Kia customer care to inquire about extended warranties on the engine. While there were no extended warranties customer was informed of a previous campaign sent to then current owners of these engines in July of 2018 in which Kia offered to do a software update to the vehicle. This is not a recall, subsequent owners would have no knowledge of this campaign (including dealers outside of the Kia network). While this dealer is under no obligation to ensure all recalls on a Kia are complete at the time of sale this VIN was checked and still currently shows no open recalls. Furthermore, customer has not produced any maintenance records on this vehicle for the past 10,000 miles driven. This customer has again contacted the dealer and while no obligation to do so we are working towards a resolution for this issue.
