On Sunday Oct 30th, I was called by the consumer to asset the electrical power at her brother condo he just bought, that haven't been energized by eversourse for over two years and need to be Inspected by the City Inspector in order to be Reenergized and I was required to pull a permit for the Process. I explain to consumer that the job is time consuming and $1800 Is needed for the process. I even told her to call different electricians. I was about to leave sitting on my car when she call me back and have her brother paid me. They were a lot issues to the unit, the 100A Main Panel was power by a 120volt outlet from and extension cord that went under a door. I explained to them that the unit may go on fire if not disconnected. The permit process online but can take up to one week. I decided to go in person and got it Monday morning the 31th. I went to1010 Mass ave in order to get the permit and wait until 2pm and met with the Inspector to ask for a favor for next day Inspection and went back to the unit Inspected the Electrical Panel for any loose wiring and went on the basement area and Found a major Violation that I knew the inspector will not missed. I called her Explain the Situations and Even told her the Entire Unit not Supposed to have power until that violation is fixed. The 200A main disconnect that's the only disconnect main for all 100A main sub-panels, the inspector saw the violations and said he won't close my permit until it fixed but will Reenergized her unit temporally. After the Inspection I was happy for her and spent friendly times inside her Condo fixed a vanity light that wasn't working and I didn't charge her any extra. I even told her I will save her some money when they are ready to fix the violations. During the process she was very happy after she got the power back from eversouse she contacted the Inspector again and said I over charged her. The consumer is not and elderly woman probably late 50 and told me she work at Home Depot Quincy Mass as a Supervisor and even told me she was going to help me find a job for my daughter. I spent about 15 hours on the process from Sunday Oct 30th to Tuesday Nov 1st till I met with the Inspector. The consumer had the choice to call different electricians for different quotes because I gave her my price before I did the job.
